Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Department: Human Resources

Reports To (Title): HR Manager Facility: Detroit

Purpose:

 


Administration of Collective Bargaining Agreement and grievance
procedure.
Provides guidance
and counseling on HR Policies
and Labor contracts
ensuring consistent application of the agreement. 
Plan,
organize and direct personnel programs and activities in a manner that engenders
open and direct
communication between the company and all employees.
Assist theHumanResource
Managerinestablishing andimplementingemployeeprograms,  training and monitoring processes that fosterand promote a climate of trust,
cooperationand
confidence.Assist theHuman ResourceManager in planning,organizing and directing personnelprograms
and activities in a mannerthatengendersopenanddirectcommunicationbetween the company andallemployees. ReportandadviseHumanResourcesManager
ofdaily/weekly/monthlymajorissuesandexecutesthedecisionsmadebytheSeniorHumanResourcesManager.  Screening,interviewingandselectinghourly
candidates,schedulingand  conductingtheNewHireOrientation forall hourlyemployees. AssisttheHumanResource
Managerinthecoordinationoftheselection
activityofallsalariedpositions including,workingwithrecruiters,headhunters,universities andotherplacement
agenciesforviablecandidates,scheduling andcoordinatingtheinterviewswiththerequesting
department manager, providing feedback and preparing final offer letterto the selected
individual,answering
anyquestionsrelative
tothe company,paypractices, etc. Coordinate all labor relationsactivities including investigations,
grievancemeetings,
transfers,promotions, demotions,andterminations.Assist the Human ResourceManagerin providing counsel and support to the
Health& Safety
Managerintheoverall
companystrategy ofreducing
work-relatedinjuries,addressing  ergonomicconcernsandothersafetyissues Other
tasksasassigned.

Education/Skill/ExperienceRequirements:

Four-yearcollege degreeinaHumanResources
orbusiness-relatedfielddesired;advance
degree inLaborRelationsor
HumanResources preferred.Priorexperience in
human resources, laborrelations,contract negotiations,planthealthand safety,
workers compensation,benefits,
andpayrolldesired.
Must becomputer-literatewithdemonstratedexperience intheMSOfficesuite (Excel,Word,PowerPoint,Outlook).Goodinterpersonal,communicationandorganizationskillsrequired.

Mustbeabletoworkwellunderpressurewithminimumsupervisioninafast-pacedenvironment.
